14th Annual Lakeview Garden Walk
Sunday, July 19, 2009 Noon to 5:00 PM
The Lakeview Garden Walk is a wonderful annual tradition in the Lakeview Community sponsored by the Central Lake View Merchants Association and the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce, and local resident's organizations.
Each July, the Lakeview community in Chicago is transformed into a paradise of flowers for the general public to come and enjoy. Hundreds of gardeners have participated in the event, opening their yards and gardens to pedestrian visitors on this beautiful walking tour.
The Lakeview Garden Walk features city gardens in the area bounded by Addison Street, Diversey Parkway, Southport Avenue, and Lake Shore Drive. All gardens will have maps indicating the location of participating gardens. Free trolley service is available during the event.
It's a wonderful family friendly event with beautiful gardens and friendly neighbors welcoming you into their relaxing greenspace. With the help of our volunteers and sponsors we hope 2009 will be the biggest and best Lakeview Garden Walk yet!
The Lakeview Garden Walk has grown to nearly one hundred gardens in recent years. We're growing geographically as well, as every year the walking map expands to include more gardens in all areas of Lakeview.
